Phuket, Thailand🇹🇭
July 2021
Some notes:
I visited Thailand on a solo trip the same week it just reopened after COVID lockdown, July 2021. There were a lot of travel restrictions. One being that Phuket was the only city you could visit at that time, but after I believe 14 days in Phuket, then you could travel to other cities. My trip wasn’t that long, so I could only visit Phuket.
Because Phuket just reopened for lockdown, I didn’t get to do a lit of the things in Phuket I wished to do. Tourist spots weren’t back up and running yet.
I wish I could have visited Bangkok, for the bustling city experience. Even though I did not get to visit Bangkok, I have included some recommendation for Bangkok below.
Other cities to consider visiting: Hua Hin, Chang Mai.
Transportation:
Grab: transportation app similar to uber
In Bangkok: also have Tuk tuks, sky train, boat shuttle
Here’s a link to my google doc which has all the information from this post (minus the pics), which may be easier to reference.
PHUKET
ACTIVITIES
Big Buddha
You can enter the temple and walk the grounds, where there are other smaller Buddhas.
Zipline park + skywalk
Controversial, because they drug the animals to allow for pictures. So I did not visit this place.
Feed and bathe elephants. Lunch provided. 2500 THB (75 USD)
Highly recommend. They treat the elephants humanely, unlike some other places.
